OCO and Professor Nikos Passas are delighted to announce the organization of the conference entitled « Corruption and Economic Crisis: Criminal and Forensic Optics » under the auspices of SA. of the President of the Republic Mr Prokopios Pailopoulou and in cooperation with the Athens Bar Association, entitled “Corruption and Economic Crisis: Criminal and Forensic Optics » in Athens on the 2nd of July 2018.

Under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, the President of the Crime Study Centre and the President of the Athens Bar invite you to a round-table discussion on “Corruption and Financial Crisis: Penal and Criminological Perspectives”. The event is on the 2nd of July at the Ceremony Hall of the Athens Bar: 60 Acadimias Str. The speakers: Nikos Passas (Northeastern University), Nestor Kourakis (University of Athens), Leonidas Kotsalis (University of Athens), Eleni Michalopoulou (Ass. Attorney General for Corruption). The discussion will be moderated by Fotios Spyropoulos (Firefighters Academy and Crime Study Center). The audience will be greeted also by Anastasia Chalkia (President of the Crime Study Centre) and Themistoklis Sofos (Vice President of the Athens Bar).

The Crime Study Centre (http://e-keme.gr/) in collaboration with the Organized Crime Observatory (Switzerland – https://www.o-c-o.net/) have undertaken to form a working group of researchers to further contribute to the research of Northeastern University Professor Dr. Nikos Passas, on the Greek debt and human rights violations. The above event is part of this collaboration and will assist in mapping the core issues and priorities.
